Steering committee

Composition

  • Voting members : Representatives of supervisory institutions : UGA, CEA, CNRS, EMBL, INSERM, INRA
  • Deliberating members: Representatives of associated partners: LyonBioPôle, ESRF, ILL, Minatec bio center, CHU
  • Consultative voice: Board of directors

Role

  • Validate the global strategy of the project
  • Decide the global distribution of funding and the contribution of the supervisiory institutions
  • Follow GRAL indicators and ensure that the objectives are being addressed
  • Validate the evaluation reports before submission at the ANR

  • GRAL Executive Manager : Hélène Marche

Role

  • Submit a global strategy to the steering committee, on the basis of the proposals of the internal Scientific Board
  • Allocate the budget to the different activities and projects, in the framework of the global budget validated by the steering committee, and on the basis of the proposals of the internal Scientific Board
  • Ensure that the appropriated activities are launched to reached the objectives of GRAL
  • Prepare the evaluation reports to be submitted to the steering committee

Internal Science Board

Composition

  • 10 members selected amongst the researchers of the 2 institutes: nominated for 2 years, renewable
    • Members from BIG:
      • Virginie Brun, Eric Faudry, Giovanni Finazzi, Stéphane Ménage and Chloe Zubieta
    • Members from IBS:
      • Cécile Breyton, Bruno Franzetti, Hugues Nury, Rob Ruigrok and Joanna Timmins
  • Assisted by GRAL executive manager and Board of directors

Role

  • Provide advice to the board of directors on scientific and technological issues
  • Identify and propose initiatives for the research programs of GRAL, responding to criteria determined by the board of directors
  • Monitor closely the evolution of science and technology to maintain the highest skills and expertise in GRAL
